A man and a woman were living together and they had a son called “Hantisho” which means “sneeze”. One day they want to go for a visit and they tell the son to stay at home and sleep there.

The next day he slept without closing the door. A hyena was passing and saw the open door and he came in and saw the sleeping boy and the hyena took the boy to the jungle and when he puts him on the ground he woke up.

When he sees it’s a hyena he says, “Do you eat me without pepper and salt?”

The hyena says, “I don’t have that.”

Hantisho says, “I’ll bring you some from my home.”

The hyena agrees, so he runs home and sleeps, shutting the door.

The hyena realises he’s gone, and he goes home and calls “Atishoo! Atishoo!” and Hantisho says, “It’s dark, don’t disturb me!”

The hyena says, “Why did you cheat me, saying you’d bring pepper and salt?”

Hantisho says, “God advised me.”
