Narrated by Daniel Legesse

Once upon a time there was a woman called Woizero{footnote}Denotes a married woman{/footnote} Aberash. She had three children, and one of them was a daughter. One day she was alone at home with her daughter when haphazardly she started to go into labour.

She started saying, “Huh! Call someone. Ah! Call someone. Ah! Call someone.”

And Alamitu (the daughter), immersed in worry, started to say, “Dear Mother, please to try labour sleeping on your back. Dear Mother, try to labour saying ‘Uh!’”

Because she had no child, so she had no experience herself.

You can’t teach something you have no knowledge of.

In the meantime, one of the neighbours overheard the situation and came to them.

She said, “Why didn’t you call someone when she asked you to?”

Alamitu kept silent, and her mother replied, “Leave her alone! She’s trying to teach me how to labour.”

Immediately the neighbour took her to the nearby clinic and the story remains to be called, “The daughter who taught her mother to give birth.”
